Prison Stories: A story of mercy and forgiveness
Prison Stories: A story of mercy and forgiveness
"Can I have your boots?"

My blood began to boil; I could not believe my own eyes, there he was, in a bunk 20 feet from my own. I saw him every morning when I woke up; it was impossible to avoid him during the day, his voice echoed in my mind as I fell asleep at night. The rage came back with the intensity I felt 6 years before, but there was nothing I could do about it. Worst of all, he didn't even recognize me.

I was obsessed with getting even; everyday my anger grew more intense, as I thoug

Vision and Beliefs

Without a strong foundation

A Christ-centered ministry; building solid foundations for prison ministry by

  • Taking the Christian message into prisons.
  • Training volunteers from local churches in prison ministry, using the Alpha course (see details about the Alpha course below) and other Christ-centered courses.
  • Alerting churches to opportunities that exist for prison ministry helping them to establish their own prison ministry.
Beliefs.

We hold to the following core beliefs.

There is only one God who exists as a Trinity of persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He has revealed Himself through His creation, through His inspired Word (the Bible) and supremely through His Son Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity. Each person of the Trinity is distinct from the other persons of the Godhead, and each is fully God.

The Bible is fully inspired
by the Holy Spirit;it is the authoritative Word of God for belief and life.

Every person is made in the image of God and is therefore of intrinsic worth as an individual. Every person is by nature and action a sinner and needs redemption from sin.

Jesus Christ took our human nature, was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a perfect, sinless life and offered that life as a perfect and effective sacrifice on the Cross for our sins. He rose again bodily as proof of His victory over sin and death and will return to earth again in power and glory.

The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity makes the benefits of Christ's death effective to individual sinners and leads us to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ for salvation.

The Holy Spirit lives in all those He has given new life in Jesus Christ. He makes them increasingly Christlike in character and behavior, giving them the power to live effectively as followers of Jesus Christ in the world.

The one holy universal Church is the body of Christ, to which all believers belong.

Christian Community. All who followers of Jesus Christ need each other. God has provided the fellowship of the church so that through the gifts and graces supplied by the Holy Spirit we can lovingly help each other to grow to maturity in our experience and understanding of Christ.

The Lord Jesus Christ will return in person, in power and glory to judge both the living and the dead.

What is Alpha? (click links for more info)
Alpha is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life, through a 15 session, Biblically based course that covers the basics of Christian belief.

Alpha is internationally recognized, non-denominational, Biblical presentation of the Christian Faith.

Alpha promotes relational Christianity in an age of increasing alienation. (The prison population is the most lonely and alienated cultural group in the USA).
