Volunteer Training
is an important aspect of Free Inside’s ministry.
Training is
given to new volunteers on how Alpha Behind Bars works.
On going
training
of the volunteers, who now number close to 50, is
equally important. During 2006 we held a training
session in May on
“Prayer
Ministry on Alpha”,
then in August the topic was
“How to
Lead an Alpha small group.”
Our
training sessions
are designed to give our volunteers the necessary skills
for ministry in a prison environment.
 Service
Commissioning our Volunteers
This
service was held on August 29, at Grace Episcopal
Church,
Old Saybrook, CT.
Rev.
Tom White, (left) Rector
of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church
led the service.
Rev. Don McLean,
(right) Pastor of
Glastonbury Community Church
preached the sermon

Fourth Annual Conference
(Breaking
the Chains that Bind)
The
theme
“Addiction and Grace”
was ably dealt with by Mr. Bob Carini, head
of addiction services at York C I and by Rev. Tom Beck,
Rector of Grace Episcopal Church, Stafford Springs, CT.
Living a
purpos e
driven life
The
generosity of so many
of you has enabled us to buy
nearly 1000 copies the
“Purpose
Driven Life”
Our volunteers
are already
giving copies to those attending
our
programs. Pray that every
recipient will begin to live
their
lives with God’s purposes in
mind.
When I tell
inmates that the ministry of Free Inside is funded by
the generosity of many Christians, they are often deeply
moved. It is important for them to know that there are
Christians who care enough about their spiritual well
being to pray and give so that
they
might hear about the love of Jesus Christ for them.
Christmas & New Year Greetings
Jesus said,
“I came that they may have life and have it abundantly”
John
10:10 ESV
Sheila and I wish you all a blessed Christmas and
a spiritually
prosperous New Year. We
also want to thank every one of you who have given so
faithfully to support the ministry of Free Inside. We
pray that you will continue to give to support us in
this vital
ministry during the coming year.

“When did we see you in prison and go to visit you? . .
. .
I tell you the truth whatever you did for one of the
least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”
Matthew 25: 36 & 40
Giving to Free Inside this Christmas is an investment in
reaching prisoners with the
transforming love of Jesus
Christ.
